Job Purpose

Conduct needs analysis, develop training material, deliver training and conduct assessments, evaluate and follow up on the effectiveness of the training to ensure that the training delivered meets Operation’s and regulatory requirements to support the achievement of PetroSA objectives.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the training curriculum per programme and training schedule per discipline to ensure Operation’s and regulatory requirements are met
  • Conduct the training needs assessment, root cause analysis and troubleshooting to determine Operation’s training requirements
  • Plan, develop and execute the training plans to address the identified Operation’s training needs
  • Deliver, facilitate and co-ordinate high quality training which includes SHEQ and regulatory requirements to ensure that trainees are able to achieve the required level of competence and understand safe working procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare the documentation, conduct the assessment and document the Proof of Evidence according to the Total Quality Management System to ensure governance and compliance
  • Develop and maintain training materials and assessments in line with Operations, SHEQ, regulatory, accreditation and best practice standards 

Knowledge & Competencies:

  • SETA Regulations relevant to trade
  • South African Legislation relating to SHEQ (e.g. Mine Health and Safety Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act etc)
  • Relevant PetroSA Policies and Procedures
  • Engineering regulations relevant to trade
  • Relevant ISO standards 

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 with Maths and Science /NQF 4 Chemical Operations Qualification
  • National Higher Certificate (NQF5) in OD ETDP and CHIETA Assessor Training – an added advantage

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years trade experience within a petrochemical plant environment of which two years was spent as a Junior Trainer would be an added advantage.
